Bill’s extensive experience includes 5 years at Argo Group, a $1b specialty insurance company in New York, with roughly 800 employees. There he was consistently entrusted with expanded roles and responsibilities, reflecting the executive team’s confidence in his consultative leadership skills and functional expertise. In November of 2023, as the close of Brookfield’s acquisition of his company approached, he was instrumental in the successful completion of due diligence and pre-closing HR activities. In 2024, in addition to leading the HR team and supporting the business through substantial changes, Bill led a cross-functional team to consolidate the HR services across the acquiring operating company. He led his team in supporting an additional 800 employees while achieving $3 million in expense savings. He also drove enterprise-wide programs enhancing talent development, culture and values, expense management, employee engagement and total rewards management.
Prior to Argo, Bill spent 6 years at StateStreet Corp. in Boston leading the HR support of a Global Services division which had 5,000 employees. This was preceded by 15 years at OneBeacon Insurance (now Intact) where Bill led the support of OneBeacon’s Specialty Division as the company built out its Specialty businesses as their core offering after being purchased by WhiteMountain Insurance Group.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Science from Babson College in Wellesley MA and an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston. He also holds Senior Human Resources Professional designation.
